Updated Oct 2026.
Pennsylvania is home to more than 300 breweries, so a decent pint is never hard to find. Finding one worth remembering takes a little effort, and that’s why we’ve done the work for you with these outstanding breweries in the Poconos.
Six stops made this list. Some lean into live music, some into small-batch experimentation, and one traces its roots back to the 1800s. All six sit within a reasonable drive of The French Manor Inn & Spa, close enough to string two or three together in a single afternoon without losing daylight on the road.
Jam Room Brewing Company
The name is not an accident. Jam Room regularly hosts local musicians and touring acts, often several nights a week, and the beer list keeps pace with the calendar. Its selection ranks among the most diverse and balanced in the region, spanning hoppy IPAs to fruit-forward sours.
Tasting flights, growler refills, and a steady rotation of new releases keep regulars coming back to see what changed since their last visit. Grab a table early on performance nights; word travels fast once the lineup gets announced.
Susquehanna Brewing Company
Susquehanna Brewing Company pours everything from a signature golden lager to a specialty southern rye IPA, so there is a beer here for nearly every palate.
The Sunny Spot Grapefruit Shandy balances tart grapefruit against summer-sweet malt for something lighter. For more punch, the Toboggan Chocolate Doppelbock plays Munich, crystal, and chocolate malts against Hallertau hops for a finish that borders on dessert.
The full menu runs deep enough to justify a second visit, with rotating seasonal releases alongside the year-round lineup.
Susquehanna built its reputation on range, and Barley Creek Brewing Co. built its own on a similar principle: more taps, more choices, no single "house style" to lock into.

Barley Creek Brewing Co.
Barley Creek keeps close to 50 original brews and a dozen guest taps flowing at any given time. Guests seeking something light and easy or dense and full-bodied find it here with little searching. The Antler Brown Ale is a standout, an English-style brown that leans on nutmeg before finishing smooth with chocolate and coffee notes.
Guest taps rotate often, so regulars rarely order the same round twice.
Runaway Train Brewery
Runaway Train traces its beer-making roots back to 1851, a history most breweries in the Poconos cannot claim. Its award-winning lineup, built on locally inspired recipes, draws visitors well beyond the county line. Every batch starts with Fox Ledge Spring Water instead of tap water; that mountain-sourced base shows up in the clarity of the finished pour.
Visitors planning a stop should arrive hungry. The kitchen makes sandwiches, burgers, seafood, and vegetarian plates that hold their own against the beer list, and live performances round out several nights each week. Between the history and the music, a quick stop rarely stays quick.

The Union Craft House
The Union Craft House trades the stage for a longer beer list, but the loyalty it builds runs just as deep.
Two lifelong friends who shared a love of good beer and better company founded The Union Craft House in 2019. The taproom has built a reputation on depth rather than novelty. Well over 100 beers rotate through the space, backed by 16 craft-exclusive taps and a fresh draft list that rarely sits still.
Regulars can join the 100 Club by working through 100 beers from around the world, one pour and one bartender recommendation at a time. Pair the lineup with a food menu that mixes local favorites and brewpub staples, and a quick stop tends to run long.
Bartenders here know their list well and are happy to steer a first-timer toward the right pour.
Your Home Base Between Pours
Six stops in, and the mountain still needs to hold up its end. That is the idea behind pairing a brewery crawl with a stay at The French Manor Inn & Spa. Our stone chateau sits pretty and close enough to reach every name on this list without spending the whole day behind the wheel. Come home to one of our beautiful rooms, from Carriage House suites with their own charm to Victorian-style Manor rooms built for slowing down.
Private fireplaces keep the ambiance going, and private balconies await in many of our suites, so the evening continues. Our adults-only property keeps the weekend personal. No kids underfoot, just the two of you and a mountain view.
Our on-site restaurant and Le Spa Forêt round out the stay for guests who want more than a bed to return to. A massage at the spa and a proper dinner that follows go a long way after a long day. Book both ahead of time, since weekend slots fill quickly once the leaves start turning.
These breweries in the Poconos give you a reason to explore the region. We give you a reason to come back to it. Book your stay and turn your next brewery weekend into something worth repeating.
